Welsh Government

We are discussing how we can work in partnership with Wales’ publicly-owned renewable energy developer, Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru, and other Welsh public bodies.

We will complement the work of other Welsh Government activities such as Ynni Cymru, the programme to expand smart locally owned renewable energy projects across Wales.

Scottish Government

We share the Scottish Government's desire to secure investment in priority domestic supply chains and infrastructure for clean energy, and to support communities.

This will speed up the delivery of clean energy technologies and maximise the economic benefits, including local job creation.

We will develop partnerships with existing Scottish public bodies in the clean energy sector including:

This will help us deliver quickly and effectively.

We will also work with the Scottish Government, including with their Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), to develop community and local energy.

The Crown Estate

We have entered into a partnership with The Crown Estate. This will enable offshore wind projects to be built faster, once leases have been agreed.

The partnership has the potential to accelerate and derisk the sustainable deployment of offshore wind and other technologies - for example carbon capture and storage, wave, tidal, floating offshore wind and hydrogen - and support the development and growth of the UK’s energy supply chain.

The Crown Estate’s remit and strategy remains unchanged.

National Wealth Fund

We will invest in clean energy generation in partnership with the private sector. To do this, we will work with the National Wealth Fund.

We will set out how the two institutions will collaborate as we scale up.

While we are establishing our work, we expect our investment activity will be undertaken by the National Wealth Fund, in line with their investment and operating principles.

This will enable us to invest quickly and draw on the National Wealth Fund’s experience and pipeline of projects.
